About Us
“Being a good muslim woman was never meant to feel like losing yourself”
From a young age, many of us are shaped by expectations that aren’t fully ours. The definition of “the good Muslim woman” sometimes feels like a script we’re supposed to follow. wear this, act like this, think like this. We’re told that success looks like marriage by a certain age, a perfect home, endless patience, hiding emotions for the sake of peace, ticking silent boxes society set for us.
But what about who we really are beneath all of that?
What about the quiet Muslim girl who struggles to connect with her prayer, not because she doesn’t love Allah, but because no one ever taught her how to love herself?
What about the Muslim woman who wears her hijab but battles feeling lost inside, always wondering if she’s enough?
What about the endless comparisons, the fear of falling behind, the pressure of becoming what others expect while losing touch with your own soul?
When I turned inward, I remembered that Allah taught us reflection before anything else. In the Qur’an, Allah constantly asks: Do they not reflect?
Journaling became my way of answering that call.
Writing slowed my thoughts down. It gave me permission to feel, to acknowledge emotions I always buried. Gratitude became more than a checklist, it became how I noticed the quiet blessings around me. I learnt that reflection is a form of worship. Gratitude is a path to more.
Journaling helped me hear my own thoughts clearly for the first time.
It helped me find patterns in my mindset.
It helped me listen to my emotions instead of ignoring them.
And slowly… I felt myself healing and growing.
Writing taught me reflection, gratitude, and self-awareness, things Islam always encourages, but that I never fully understood before.
That’s why I created Niymaah.
A space where Muslim women can come back to themselves. Without judgement. Without pressure. Just with the intention to grow and reconnect.
Because you’re not behind. You’re not failing. You’re just carrying silent struggles no one taught you how to navigate.
And now… it’s time to bloom within.
